Who are we?....
Talking is Mental is a community initiative looking to combat loneliness, depression and anxiety. We do this by connecting people through a variety of activity groups and encouraging dialogue about the impact of loneliness on mental health.
If you are dealing with loneliness we are here to help, come along to one of our groups to make new friends, find a new hobby and take positive steps towards combatting loneliness, poor mental health and anxiety.
According to a 2024 study over 17% of people in the north East of Glasgow do not have a close friend, and 40% feel lonely often, or always. People experiencing prolonged or intense periods of loneliness are at greater risk of poor mental health, elevated blood pressure, acute stress and early mortality. This is not how it needs to be....
